Olivia De Berardinis’s illustrations for Playboy are some of her most innovative, masterful, and sought out paintings from her career. This large and detailed example appeared as a full page image illustrating the T. Coraghessan Boyle story “Modern Love” with the caption “her favorite movie was the boy in the plastic bubble–that should have told me something.” Olivia incorporates the theme of untouchability through the suggestion of a saran wrap chrysalis enfolding the figure, while further elevating the already beautiful model through the richly textured Asian-motif background.
Popular both among Olivia fans and the team at Playboy, this work also is featured in the March 2014 Russian edition of the magazine.
