“She’s got Legs” and 80s hit rock group ZZ TOP would approve! This tall 1983 acrylic on canvas, Red Legs, was auctioned for $91,000 including premium with the Robert Berman Gallery in Santa Monica, CA March, 2019. Provenance from Scattivodd Fine Art Gallery (NC6 fame, think…red glove!) and originally Karl Bornstein, Mirage Editions, Inc. She is 64 inches tall and 28 inches wide.
Check out the rarely seen photo from the original proof sheet with model Susan Olar she graciously provided to a forum for Nagel collectors at the time of auction. Olar was one of Nagel’s favorite models and is seen time and time again, most notably as the profile model for the Collector’s Gallery serigraphs and many Playboy Portfolio posthumous favorites, I’ve included here along with her composite card from the same year, Elite John Casablancas (Los Angeles) 1983. One of my favorite models. She is simply fabulous! ?
