Afternoon with Julie by artist Dennis Mukai. The serigraph on left was released by Mirage in 1991. It is a limited edition of 275 hand signed and numbered and only 25 Artist Proofs. The sheet size is 36” high x 27” wide. Unlike the Mirage releases of Patrick Nagel’s work, there are NO signed in screens of these beauties!! So the total triage signed editions are all that exist. All Mukai hand pulled silkscreens are pencil signed. On right is the original prismacolor drawing. Look at the sweet comparison and pops of color. The original recently sold with Evening With Julie the lucky buyer bought the pair of famous print drawings. Mukai’s model and muse is Daytime Emmy award winning actress Julie Pinson. Julie is best-known for her roles that include Eve Lambert on “Port Charles”, Billie Reed on “Days of Our Lives” and Janet Ciccone on “As The World Turns.” Fun tidbit, Julie is happily married to actor Billy Warlock, a lifeguard on the first three seasons of Baywatch. They have been married since 2006. Of course all this happened years after Mukai created these gorgeous images. Mukai painted many beautiful women before they were famous! Being a popular Mukai model I am sure didn’t hurt! ?
