Karl Bornstein, owner and publisher of Mirage Editions, insisted Patrick Nagel created 120 canvases*. Sadly, sales records were lost and some paintings never photographed. Paintings sold out quickly and collectors often paid cash! (Consider a time of only carbon copy receipts with no digital files or scanners!) Other sources had the canvas count firm at 80. With my help and a collaboration of combining resources a catalogue number well over 90 now exists. We will find them. This painting I documented in 2020 recently resurfaced and sold at Heritage Auctions!
Artwork continues to resurface at auctions and long time private collectors and friends of Pat are helping me document. I am forever grateful for ALL the collaboration. This page will be a work in progress. Check back from time to time as I will continue to add and post.

Below are canvases confirmed in books and calendars or previously published online by Mirage Editions, the Nagel Estate or by Nagel’s technical assistant Barry Haun (worked directly with Nagel on the construction and creation of all the canvases ’82 until Nagel’s death in ’84). I have not seen the below publicly resurface or been provided a photograph. Dimensions may be unknown. (Note: Many errors exist in “The Art of Patrick Nagel.”) If you have information or photographs to reconfirm or correct any content on this page please privately contact me. I am happy to credit you.

Just Looking Gallery, San Luis Obispo confirmed numbers easily over 100. They held the Nagel retrospective in 2007 in collaboration with the Nagel Estate.
