Seated Man (N. 9)

Seated Man Limited Edition Graphic

1981 \ 30 ” x 40″ \ 40 s/n \ 10 a/p

“Seated Man,” is Patrick Nagel’s only featured limited edition male graphic. It is a large sheet serigraph at 40” x 30.” Nagel released only 40 pencil signed/numbered & 10 artist’s proofs in July of 1981, making this eight color screen print extremely rare. Nagel’s male images are too often ignored or simply go unrecognized. I am here to help change that if I can, even if a little.

While some believe this may have been a self portrait, I confirmed with Nagel’s assistant Barry Hahn and that is not the case. Seven months before Mirage released “Seated Man,” Nagel painted “Man with I.V.” for Playboy. Six months before the release of “Seated Man,” Pat was commissioned to paint several men for an article on fashion. It is believed by myself and other Nagel enthusiasts this this inspired the creation of “Seated Man.”

“Seated Man” is one of my favorite graphics. I will have him until the day I die. My “Man” took me years to finally find mint, but #5 finally hangs in Los Angeles.

I have one in stock now please contact me for details! #5/40 Absolutely mint!
