“Madame X” the second in my series about the “2007 Retrospective Estate Editions” (see “Purple Robe” and “Leather Cap”), one of only three posthumous Nagel Estate releases in collaboration with Just Looking Gallery.

The “Madame X” giclee’ was limited to 150 estate stamped and numbered. The measurement of the image area is 23.75″ x 16.” So, slightly bigger than “Purple Robe.” We have to remember that the estate is working from a scan. usually from a small acrylic and mixed media board which was never meant to be a print, so in order to make it a giclee they can lose some sharpness and the image gets larger digitally. I estimate Just Looking Gallery and Jennifer Dumas (Nagel’s widow) that collaborated to create these images for release printed them as large as able, but not any further in order to keep the integrity of the original image.
All including the images in the two sets of Playboy Portfolio’s, “Madame X” is the spiciest Nagel formally released as a limited edition print. Her dominatrix regalia looks fantastic in this piece. Nagel could be extremely risqué and kinky. Some images are just not suitable even for a simple online website by SwimmersGirl, so you have to PM me for those. (I do love them!) Regardless, I think it was wonderful that the estate created this release and I can tell you the guys at Just Looking Gallery are not shy! Brave to all that worked on releasing this one.
